G I Weld Mesh

Offered in consistent per square meter weight, the Galvanized Welded Wire Mesh is manufactutured by drawing mild steel wire rod, annealing through electric furnace and galvanizing as per set standards in a modern 130 feet long plant.

GI Weld Mesh is a type of welded wire mesh made from galvanized iron wire, where longitudinal and transverse wires are resistance-welded at their intersections to form a rigid grid. The galvanization process gives the mesh strong resistance to corrosion, making it ideal for outdoor, industrial, and agricultural uses.
Galvanized Iron (GI) refers to steel or iron that has been coated with a layer of zinc to protect it from rust and corrosion.

Two main methods of galvanization:

Hot-Dip Galvanization

  • The wire is dipped in molten zinc, creating a thick and durable zinc coating.
  • Offers excellent corrosion protection.

Electro-Galvanization

  • Zinc is applied via electroplating, producing a thinner and smoother coating.
  • Suitable for indoor or light-duty applications.

Manufacturing Process of GI Weld Mesh

  1. Wire Drawing: Mild steel rods are drawn to the required diameter.
  2. Galvanization: Wires are galvanized (either before or after welding).
  3. Welding: Wires are arranged and electrically resistance-welded at each crossing.
  4. Finishing: Mesh may be flattened or trimmed, depending on application.
